My Training: Jennifer Strong R.Ac. (Dr.TCM.-Alberta), is a Registered Acupuncturist, practicing acupuncture and Oriental medicine since 1996. She completed her medical training at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, following an undergraduate degree earned at Mills, an ivy-league women’s college (www.mills.edu). Jennifer continues to update her skills with advanced training in acupuncture techniques, herbal medicine and new medical developments. Education Jennifer earned her undergraduate degree at Mills College (one of the 'seven sisters' group of ivy-league women's colleges), graduating in 1990. Following a year fulfilling medical science pre-requistes, she went on to earn her Master's degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in 1996. TravelIn addition to her academic work, her residency and extensive travel in Japan and China served to deepen her understanding of Asian culture and thus, her comprehension of Oriental medical theory. Certification Jennifer has successfully completed all four of the stringent U.S. national licensing examinations, administered by the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncturists, the Alberta acupuncture registration exam, administered by the Alberta Health Disciplines Board, and the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture of British Columbia’s licensing exam.

Jennifer has served the public and her profession as president of the Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine Society of Alberta. She also served on many government committees, including as chair of the Acupuncture Committee and Acupuncture Program Review Committee, on the Board of Examiners and on the Acupuncture Transition Steering Committee.p> |
